This website exists so that anyone can read about roof work, check which areas we cover and ask for a written quote. That should not depend on how you see, hear, move or process information. If you meet a barrier on any page, tell us and we will work on it.
The quickest routes are phone on 01843 305243, WhatsApp on 07880 284133 or email to info@castleroofingmargate.co.uk. You do not need to use the quote form to get in touch.
What is built in
How the pages are put together
These are the features you can rely on across the site:
- a skip link at the top of each page that jumps past the menu to the main content;
- a main menu with a label for screen readers, plus visible keyboard focus on links and buttons, drawn as a thick outline;
- headings in order on each page, so a screen reader can list them and move between sections;
- text that resizes with your browser settings and a layout that reflows on a phone;
- a reduced-motion setting that the site follows, so animation can be switched off in your device settings.
Images carry descriptions where they add meaning, and are left empty where they only decorate.
Forms and contact
Asking for a quote without the form
The quote form asks for your name, a way to reach you and the address of the roof. Each field has a visible label. Nothing on the form runs against a timer.
If a form is awkward for you to use, ring or send a WhatsApp message instead and describe the roof. A voice note or a photograph sent through WhatsApp works as well as typing. We then arrange the survey in the same way as for a form enquiry, and the written price comes after the roof has been looked at.
Other formats
Information in a different form
If you would prefer something read out, in larger print or set out in a different way, ask for it. That applies to this website, a written quote or a letter about a job. Tell us what suits you, and we will send it in that form or talk it through by phone.
Known limits
Where the site is not perfect
The site has not been audited by an outside accessibility specialist, so no particular level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines has been tested or confirmed. Some parts may fall short:
- the map on the contact page is an embedded Google map, and the controls inside it belong to Google, not to this site;
- a few older pages may hold tables or lists that come across less clearly in a screen reader than they should;
- photographs of roofs show detail that a description cannot fully carry.
Where the map is the problem, the phone number, WhatsApp and email appear in plain text on the same page.
Reporting a problem
If something does not work
Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and what stopped you. Mention the device and any assistive tool you use, such as a screen reader or voice control, if you are happy to. We read every message and fix what we can.
A complaint about the website follows the same route as any other, set out on our complaints procedure page. How we handle your details when you write is in the privacy policy.
The law
Where the legal duties sit
The Equality Act 2010 asks businesses that provide services to the public to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. We take that to cover how we deliver a service as well as how the website works, so the same goes for surveys and conversations about work: if you need something done differently, say so before the visit and we will fit around it.
The rules that set a formal accessibility standard for websites apply to public sector bodies, not to a roofing business. We follow the principles because they make the site easier for everyone to use.
